    Smile Hi

I am a organist at a evangelical church so I have to put up with the guitars and drums every Sunday. But we also sing a couple of hymns and I can play whatever I want for Preludes and postludes of which I usually do Bach Chorales or classical. If that came to a end I would be out of there.

    Hi there Tibia 2

Welcome to yet another organist who joins our ranks.
Good for you doing the traditional preludes/postludes - I deal with a contemporary service too and although the inner content of the service is more upbeat, my service music is solely my choice. Our other service is "high church" (no bells or smells, though) with traditional liturgies (we are ELCA Lutheran), thank goodness.

We tried the "happy-clappy" junk for almost two years, then settled on "convergent" worship which ties a little of the traditional with some of the contemporary.
