Lucinda Williams, the new WEST on vinyl. She is very very good and superb sound.
From Scorcese’s Blues DVD’s I learn about Skip James, one of the most beautiful voices I have heard in blues. This record shows his unique style at its best. Superb record from Pure Pleasure.
Tracklisting Side 1: Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues / Crow Jane / Washington D.C. Hospital Center Blues / Special Rider Blues / Drunken Spree/ Cherryball Side 2: How Long Blues/ All Night Long / Cypress Grove Blues/ Look Down the Road / My Gal/ I'm So Glad Personnel: Skip James on guitar and piano. Clear, crisp modern recordings of the spooky, mysterious style of Blues Skip James developed early last century. His guitar playing is perfect. His high haunting voice floats and then holds and makes the hair on the back of your neck crawl. His piano playing is unpredictable yet concise. His unique style, which recorded earlier in his life (1930) sounded almost archaic (positively so), now sounds strangely modern due to the increased fidelity of the magnetic tape used for the recording. An unusual and original talent, Skip James was one of the best. Jackback.
listening to the new Ian Hunter album "Shrunken Heads" the first new offering since Rant. This is the best Hunter cd since All American Alien Boy. Hunter is a risk taker with his sound, never one to play safe, some would say it has cost him superstar status, but to the motley crew of his hardcore fans this album simply underpins that status. An almost alternate country feel, but still rocks.
Things may come things may go ,but the Artschool dance goes on forever.
Hi all
I am currently listening Massive Attack ~ Mezzanine. This is a cool track.
I was listening to the music soundtrack to bejeweled 2 performed by
Skaven. You probably don't know him. The music kinda rocks out
at first and changes as you get deeper into the game. Some of it
actualy sounds like harp music in it. Some of sounds better than
some movie soundtracks. I also practiced some on the church organ
yesterday and I had a ball playing different music on it. I tried a
ragtime piece called the preacher's rag and it sounded like a polka played
on a giant accordian.
