Lars, you should knock before entering someone's private thread, it's only polite.
John, you in here? Can we come in?

Sorry folks, I was tired of sharing - I wanted a thread all to myself. Just hope no-one ruins it for me ... mm ...![]()

You people are SOOOO immature... so I'm just gonna take all my marbles and go home, nyah nyah nyah!
Immature? What does he mean? Rojo, thanks for the offer - but you can let the gatecrashers stay - so long as Mathetes brings his marbles back. I knew a "keep out" sign would be irresistibly inviting to certain (naturally perverse
) people. It's the same if you tell people not to look - they just have to. Once when I was driving my young nephew home from school I glanced across at him and was horrified to find he had fired up the car's cigar lighter and was holding it glowing red in his hand. "Don't touch!" I yelled, so he did of course, and burnt his finger. A child psychologist would probably have yelled "Touch it!" When I was at school myself our maths teacher told us there were 1728 cubic inches in a cubic foot (that dates me) but there was no need for us to remember that number. Needless to say, Ive remembered it ever since. People are perverse!

Hello folks. Let’s start the party!
I'm not sure that doing the contrary of what one is told to do defines one as perverse. I hesitated to post in here, but found the thread too tempting; it's nature implied humour, and I'm not one to pass up an opportunity for a bit of fun.
I wonder, if you had posted "Guys, come on into my thread!", would you have had as many posters? (I think I would have posted here in that case as well.) I guess we'll never know.
If you had posted "Come and look at this: disgusting pictures of cruelty!" or "Don't look at these pictures of cruelty!", I would not have posted. As a mod, I would have probably looked in the thread because I have to, but not clicked on any links to pics.
Now, where are mathetes' marbles...![]()

You're right. I should have said "contrary" rather than "perverse" but I didn't mean it in any sinister way, obviously!
Yeah, put up a sign saying "WET PAINT" and everybody has to touch to make sure. I actually saw where somebody added a small freshly painted patch on the sign & labelled it "TEST HERE".
Anyway why should you have a private thread?
Should we care?
Maybe I should bring a girlfriend along to keep you in hand
Or then again you might enjoy that.![]()
Cheers MIKE.
How many roads must a man walk down ... ... before he admits he's lost?
She's a bit assertive, isn't she?
NOTE TO SELF - Don't use the word "perverse" again!
^^Well, why shouldn't he?
Of course, then there's always the risk that everyone would want one. But after what's happened in this one, maybe others will think twice before starting one.
If mathetes doesn't come back with his marbles, I've got a hula hoop and a pogo stick we can use.![]()
