Any Styx fans in the house?
I loved this band. When in their prime they were pretty damn good.
They were one of those bands in which all members were very good at their instruments. I'm also interested in knowing what some of you keyboard players think of this keyboard solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b-i0XknSnM |

drummergirlamie! Styx were huge here in Canada, more than just hard rock.
I never owned an album, so excuse my attempt at spelling, but Dennis DeYoung went on to a very successful stage career in musicals. He was here in Toronto, Ontario, last year and went over very well. as always, John Watt |

They were kind of a big deal where I used to live, too.
![]() When my older brother was in High School, and before anybody knew who they were, that group played at our High School (AND we have the yearbook pictures to prove it! )Looking back, they were my favorite of the 'local-boys-made-good' of the Northern Illinois music scene. There were a few big success stories: Chicago Transit Authority, later known as simply Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick- Another generation would witness the ascent of Smashing Pumpkins, and Veruca Salt, but Styx really resonated with us hard-working South-siders!
