• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Hi Alex,

Do not fear, MyOrgan is not lost... there are a few other Open Source projects that are using the GPLv2 code released as MyOrgan 1.06 as a base for their projects. The one that has a public release is GrandOrgue (http://www.exedra.hu/grandorgue/) and it has everything that MyOrgan has, plus a few new features (like the transpose setting).

Toccotta was never released as opensource software, therefore only the person who produced it can distribute it. Does anyone know of a download that is available?

If you know of any programmers that are interested in Virtual Pipe Organ software, please ask them to join the GrandOrgue project as it needs all the help we can give it.

You can also download MyOrgan here.
That website is also home for "Praelude" which, according to the site "will become the successor of MyOrgan. It is under construction, and will have it’s own web-site once it is more developed. It will be able to import HW 1,2 and 3 sample-sets (unscrambled) and will support audio-routing. It will be a kind of HW3-clone. Praelude News will be updated as soon there is more to tell about the developement stage."

a link that works...

Thank you.......
Those links doesnt work. I have the same problem and a liitle RAM-sized computer, so I need Myorgan, to run the big Burea organ.
Who knows where to find Myorgan (I do have Grandorgue, but cant run Burea, it is definitely a not-enough-RAM-problem) or somebody who can send it as mail-attachment?

How big is the RAM?
What sample width (eg. 16, 24 bit) is selected in the GO settings?
Loosless compression on/off?

Dear e99, First I feel very well with you looking that every user of GO is happy and all is best in experience. I would wish such interest in commercial software ;-)
Now for the point here, no chance! Burea xtended is 2,95 GB big, I have 2 GB RAM (64MB video shared and stupid processes I will hunt out of my kingdom some day, but this takes memory too) so this is already amazing that under GO it loads till the nasard of the IIIrd manual (is more interesting that it loads all under Myorgan :-o )
For now I practice with Myorgan, since I dont have a swell pedal. When my LPC1769 are here, I will also buy a 8 GB-computer, thats the way.
Grandorgue is fine with Romainswiller :)

BTW Thanks for the offer, I found on a forgotten partition a Myorgan, so if somebody needs, I can help too.

You need use load setting compareable to GO 0.2 (and its sucessors) to get a compareable memory usage.

2.9 GB for Burea extended AGO probably means that you selected 24 bit sample format without lossless compression. GO 0.2 is 16 bit - probably with lossless compression enabled.

Either switch to 16 bit with lossless compression [in the settings dialog] or override it just for that organ: In the organ dialog select 16 bit with lossless compression for the whole organ, save and reload.
It should get down to about 1.3 / 1.9 (16 bit with/without lossless compression).

Dear all,
In my case, the last GO has improved the situation. It calculated the latency automatically (46ms, exactly the same as in the latency found by try-and-fail-but-at-least-it-works MyOrgan installed on the same Computer), and the features are great, difficult to not have it. Jeuxdorgues works great! THANKS!
Buuut,
- Burea-xtended loads partially, and not enough systematically that some parts of the organ can be used. No this is just random. (still 2GB-RAM, windows XP)
- My Keyboards (Casio CTK 720) are MIDI-over-usb-only, there are no drivers for Win8 or linux, so a new computer means new keyboards.
Fortunately, Romainswiller on GO and Burea on MyOrgan are fine to practice.
Still searching for a solution for use of Burea with swell-shoes (only GO) and multi-channeling... But first of all practice ;-)
BTW I have also a depository of MyOrgan, call-by-email.

Linux ships by default with drivers, which support all standard compilant USB-MIDI devices.
I can confirm, that a Casio WK-110 works out of the box on a recent Linux system (WK-110 share a manual with CTK-810).

You can control the load setting of indiviual stops (even pipes). See the post on

Lars has done a nice screen cast about multi channeling and current GO build features swells for all windchests on the floating panel.
