Margaret - did you have a chuckle? It caused much vexation to the 10 remaining neurons that I possess to write it out.

I did have a little chuckle, I thought it was very apt for the time of year.

The person dressed in a vibrant colour, being very cheerful for the small ones is blessed with the correct notion. Gather yourself and things and call upon persons, making it a journey taken very infrequently.

    Santa Clause (of course).

Here's a piece of text that describes a "thing". What is the thing being described?

What is the chief characteristic of the ________? It is lofty. It must be tall. The force and power of altitude must be in it, the glory and pride of exaltation must be in it. It must be every inch a proud and soaring thing, rising in sheer exaltation that from bottom to top it is a unit without a single dissenting line.
I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.
    —Albert Einstein.

I think that would be a skyscraper/ tall building.

This object can be many shapes, it is used by people sometimes when other methods have failed. It helps to procure things that are not too easily found, especially those of a miniscule nature. Some may say it is quite ugly, others will say it is very attractive.

Bingo @ Margaret, though Mike's guess was probably more defined
