    out of control elephant, horrific

OK - so I was sent a link to this and really found it totally stressful to watch. Then, once I got over the shock I thought ... the elephant is a wild animal, they are simply not tameable.

If you have a weak constitution - DO NOT WATCH THIS, you have been warned.

I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.

You have to feel sorry for the man, but the elephant was clearly very upset. I agree with you CT, they are wild animals and should not be tamed and expected to perform.

The guy who was beating the elephant's nose with that pole wasn't doing the situation much good either. If someone banged on my nose with a stick, I would get more upset, too.

I totally agree, Lars, I'd have stood on him too (though I don't weight 2,800 kilograms).
