    Oh come, all ye faithful

Here is a delicious version of this wonderful advent/christmas hymn arranged by a certain, amusing Frenchman (Lefebre-Wely).

Sorry, but most annoyingly I can't upload at present as it says to me (unhelpfully)

    "upload failed"

But then, in true computer fashion, gives no reason. Most vexing!!

    Hi David ...

We apologize for you not being able to upload at present ... the condition is temporary and was most likely as a result of the recent crash/burn of the server last week.

This forum, and its sister site, Talk Classical, are currently running on an "emergency system", and both experiencing some abnormal anomalies.

If it's any consolation, even the admins can't upload to the forum either!
I've written a trouble ticket to Frederik on this issue.

    Thanks for understanding, David .

I will be anxiously awaiting that upload .. the Xmas season is my most favorite, musically anyway.

Yes indeed - we sang some Advent Hymns last Sunday, I like them too very much.

"Oh Come All Ye Faithful" is also the hymn tune for the one known as "How Firm A Foundation, Ye Saints of the Lord". Would L-F's music fit that version? (Actually, the tune goes by its Latin name, Adeste Fidelis.)

The sheet music to this L-W piece (Venite Adoremus - Chant de Noel) can be found in ISMLP:

    CT64,

Might you not be just a tad too tart towards FinnViking? You are Vice Admiral after all and many look to you for leadership.

    Cheers,

The Vikings are known for their adaptation of the cultures along their trading routes. It's very likely that Vikings settled at Finnish shores, learned the Finnish language, married Finns and got FinnViking children!
