Better Late Than Never, but hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Joe and I have had our first "real" Christmas since moving to Montreal. From the light snow that fell on the 23rd and looked like sparkling sugar on the ground to enjoying a traditional Quebecoise Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve spent with a couple of new friends to yet another Quebecoise Brunch with the family of our new friend; we spent Christmas with Alain's family in Joliet and were welcomed into their family home to enjoy wine, ragout, meat tartiere, potatoes, gravy, cransberry sauce, and pretty much about anything you might think of was offered up on the table. After a respite of about an hour after dinner, we all had the sweets which also just kept on coming in every shape and form (including fruit cake that was even edible!). Then the children opened their gifts, played with the karaoke machine while everyone sang and danced. Alain's mother was so charming and gracious, making sure that every guest had a gift to open, including Joe and me. Only 5 of the group of between 25-30 spoke English yet it was such a wonderful experience.
I've been busy the past month, hence my being absent in the forums. But I have developed 2 new friendships and have been spending time getting to know our new friends. And perhaps the best part of the holiday season came on my sister's birthday November 30th when I received my permanent residency status in Canada. Between that and being welcomed into the homes of such wonderful and interesting people, this has truly been a cherished time for the both of us.
I am back to working on my organ project and now have a "partner in crime" that is helping me. I'll be enrolling in a French immersion class within the next 2 months and then my life should take another incredible turn.
Hoping the holidays have been and will continue to be all that everyone hopes for.
Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Everyone!

HI Stephen,
You're not late at all ... in fact the 12 days of Christmas have just begun. The Christmas spirit can live on up until January 6 (Epiphany) actually.
It's great that you have now gained you residency status in Canada ... congratulations!! Looking forward to hearing more about the organ midi upgrade.
All the best for the new year, too.
