Can you play any instruments? If you can't, it's possible to learn a few guitar chords/piano chords/etc. Most instruments have about four regularly used chords that you will find in every song. Learn them and you have your basics. If you can't play an instrument, stick to something simple. For example: Taylor Swifts' Our Song uses four chords, the same strumming pattern the whole way through and the order of the chords only ever changes once, on the last two lines of the chorus.
