I've come across a very nice example of a Bevington organ which is likely to be put up for sale on eBay. It bears the makers name plate and is dated 1840.

Has anyone any knowledge of the best electric action magnets to use?
I'm considering trialling conversion to 'direct' electric action instead of electro pneumatic, and received some sample magnets from different suppliers.
Has anyone any experience of the good, the bad or the ugly?
I heard somewhere that this was originally written in D or some other key, and that Saint Saens transposed it down so that the biggest pipes on the organ were used for the last bit.
Anyone know anything about that?
