Greetings to all !

Hi Panos,

I dearly love Buxtehude's music ... probably just as much as I love JS Bach's.

A nice recording with wonderful playing style ... though the solo stop seemed a bit overpowered by the accompaniment registration, but that might have been due to placement of the recorder or mics.

What did you use to record this piece?

Thank you Krummhorn !
It's difficult to choose, Bach or Bux..., but then again there other Greats like Pachelbell(I try three years now to complete his toccatas..practice and practice...), Georg Bohm, Muphat, Krebs... infinite index of powerfull music that brings our souls in to another (higher) level of perception.

Yes the solo part is a bit lower than it should, this was 'cause I recorded directly in my PC and after rec I couldn't edit anything.

Besides I wanted in any way to post here something of my playin' (adds to our relations/conversations here to know for the fellow member something it can't be told with words) , I thougt it would be very interesting to see and discuss here what we can do today with digital technology.

So I played from Athens/my home in my real EL900, Stiehr-Mockers(new extended version) sample set with new GrandOrgue v.2 softwere, lets say in Rommansvillier, France, inside St.Nicolas Church in Great Britain (using convolution reverb -reverberateLE) !!
To realise this I followed step by step the instructions given from our friend here Graham Goode and I would never know all that if I wasn't here on this forum.

Many friends would ask here why we need all that, we've got thousants of chapels, churches and Cathedrals and Minsters to play and record ?!

Think this. In Greece and other Orthodox ruled states there are people who love the Church organ and can't play it. Where I live in Athens is a big church 3 minutes walk. I could be there playin every day but I can't.There's no organ inside.
Of course there are other Dogmas churches in Athens, but they're spread-out away and mostly is hard to find a place in a row of organists waitin' to play..
It's expencive too, I mean to learn how to play. In 1980 when I finnished piano, I startred lessons in St.Paul's Anglican church in Athens, the hour paid 2.000 drachma(then about 10 english pounds) when at the time the lesson for any instrument in the Odeon was 200drachma...

So enough said, I thank you again and I hope I opened a new thread here for all to discuss!

HI Panos,

It's nice to be apprised of the situation in Greece, namely Athens.

I think it's great when other members here do record their playing and make it available to the others here - I actually wish more would do this, as the experience of doing so can be so valuable, not only to the player, but also for the listener.

Thanks Franks ! Thank you dear Marval ! so kind of you.
"Admiral" Krummhorn has right when he says more members should do recs of their playin' for all others to listen' and yes enjoy it. It's one of the principals of this exeptional forum. Sometimes is better to communicate with a few chords 'n notes than tallkin'.
Dear Krummhorn, I'll try to send more details of music activity in Greece, not only for the organ, but for the other scenes here. Other cities, Thessaloniki, Volos, Patra Crete ect have established a well grown music activity, woth lookin' and followin'. I promised Oldude allready to post details of Jazz activity in Athens and I'm gathering latest news.

You play the Bux like a seasoned pro. I like the way you registered it, and the phrasing is exquisite - Bravo!!!

Thank you Corno Dolce ! Your words lead me to try harder practicing and to record some more pieces for all to enjoy.
Come on , as "Admiral" said, send your performances for all members to hear ! Maybe, I put the idea, we can collect them all, later, as an album of the best performances of "Magle International Music Forums Members"...for downloading or whatever (legal things ect are just details - sending our music voices forward must be the goal).
