Thanks for the clips, Teddy. I did enjoy watching them.

Hi teddy,
I watched the Dudley Moore clip, remembering how much I enjoyed him on the Beeb,
then I progressed down the side list for several other tracks listed.
Then low and behold I was watching a Teddy Wilson and Earl Hines duet-What a thrill.
I must spend more time exploring Youtube
Cheers John

Glad you enjoyed it John. I believe DM was underrated because of his comic talent. Or to put it another way - he was not taken seriously.

Guys, I would also recommend two other jazz pianists you might like; namely Cedar Walton and Walter Davis Jr. They played with both Lee Morgan and Jackie Mclean, as well as Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. Perhaps you can check some of their work out on spotify and last.fm? I am still trying to get the audio system on my computer to work again, and then to continue working on my posting skills to/from you.tube.com so I can share some of their great work. Please don't give up on me quite yet!

I've just discovered Johnny Varro and lo and behold - he actually does sound like Teddy Wilsn as reported.

For those using last.fm, find Jools Holland and look for a track called Biggy Wiggy. Listen to the piano and try and ignore the rest of the band, the last minute and 10 seconds are solo piano, Jools is possibly one of the best current boogie woogie players.

Hi Martin,
I cant work out what Kapustin is trying to achieve. Does it suit classical audiences?
It sure aint jazz.

Cheers John

OK - if nobody wants to tell me I wont bother

John, it's not that I don't want to tell you or not, but it was never really made clear to any of us--as far as I know--why this guy was actually banned. Something to do with confidentiality issues. Even that much information had been provided to the rest of us by Krummhorn.

Where can I find this info that "the rest" know but I dont?
Or is there some selection basis for info distribution that I also dont know about?
