Hi everybody,

What kind of music do you usually listen to when you are doing a trip, or stuck in a traffic jam, or simply going out in the night and you just need to get relaxed all the way?

I don't actually drive, but when we travel in the car it is usually Classic FM radio.

That's a lot of driving music. It almost drove me away.
There's one song where the notes seem busy like everything flashing by,
the musical mood is slow and relaxed, like you sitting in a car,
but the lyrics are grim and get spooky, outside, "there's a killer on the loose",
that almost makes you glad you're stuck in a car.

"Riders on The Storm", by The Doors.

The Pusher - SteppenWolf from Easy Rider. With its associations with traveling and adventures it is quite evocative to people from my generation. Most of the music from the film falls into that category

Here where I live, everytime I ride in any vehicle with someone,
they are playing country music. The redneck stuff. I know of
a good one from Willie Nelson. "On the road again!" Or it will
be classic metal. The old heavy metal sounds better than what
you hear now. I can't stand Soundgarden. Their songs are
depressing.

Soft Classical Guitar music is pleasant and relaxing. Jim Greeninger's music is a good example. Search for his youtube videos and I believe you will agree with me.

yeah, yeah... I typed about cruising down the road music already, on the road again,
but that's not where the real wheel action is, it's bridges, yeah man!
You know, doin'some'cids, riding up and down the road until the flashes kick in,
and then you drive across some bridges... yeah... big ones are best...
You hear the whoosh on one side and then the whoosh on the other... no wait...
you hear the whoosh on both sides and then hear it again... and again... yeah...
and then you can turn around and do it again.

man... if you can be trippin'an sittin'in the front seat of a convertible,
jumpin'up and gettin'blown into the back seat while crossing a big bridge,
landin'on'top'a some hippy chick hitch-hiker... yeah man...
but don't blow her off by getting too heavy mental, practice safe sets.

J.H.C. and teddy! I'm sorry if I offended your sophisticated sensibilities.
I must have been fresh from an American guitar forum when I typed this.
There are many different ways to enjoy driving down the road,
and I'm glad it looks like you enjoy travelling the straight and narrow.
