Climate Change (oh no not again)

Does it matter if the peaks are falling? The average should stay the say or reduce. Unless the minium rises too much. In which case the maximum would have to fall to equal it out. Or am I wrong? (My wife seems to think so)

Yeh teddy it don't mean a thing over such a short time interval, I have seen some reports that suggest we are headed for another mini ice age? taking into account the weather in NZ over the last year or five I can well believe it

And you didn't need a few thousand quidsworth of computer to keep it running.
You got that right Mike I never thought I would have to take a car to a dealer for servicing etc but the technology left me miles behind.

Thank goodness. A Conservative MP has had the guts to announce that he beleives that wind turbines are a total waste of time and money, plus a blot on the landscape. He believes no more should be built. So there is someone sane in the goverment.

Latest report state that ice at the Poles goes on a sixty year cycle. Also no increase over the last 16 years in GLOBAL temperatures despite an increase in CO2. CO2 of course promotes plant growth which increases oxygen production.
The BBC is still insisting that GLOBAL WARMING is still geting worse and is MAN MADE. They didn't actually add " THE BAS***DS" but they might as well have.

I'm going to avoid this argument, today, by going for a long distance bike-hike.
It's half way through November, here in the Niagara Peninsula, and it hasn't snowed yet.
It's not freezing, and there's a warm sun out, nice and calm.
A lot of local birds no longer migrate, so even they make it seem like it's not winter.
I'll take off my shoes between Crystal Beach and Point Abino,
and walk on that beach-long loofah of drying seaweed, a treat for my sweet feet.

Yes, and I will celebrate by buying a warmer coat and a new umbrella. Cold for Novenber which is usually warm and mild.

JHC! Maybe I'll have a moonlight ride around the new 48 hole golf course along the Niagara Parkway.

From my news perspective, England is getting more extreme winds and rains, lots of flooding.

And people from New Zealand still have to remind us they're there.
The latest tell-all documentary about New Zealand proved that kiwis aren't even local.
I should admit, in all candor, that 95% of Canadian apple juice is made with Chinese concentrrate.
That's not just another migratory effect of global warming.
I like watching Hercules and Zena to catch my quota of New Zealand.

John we are so small and insignificant we hope countries will not notice and leave us alone. the tale goes that original settlers of NZ were Moriori (this is not accepted by every one) who made home on the Chatham Isle then the Maori arrived and just about annihilated them, the Europeans came later we now have a lot of Chinese, Korean people etc and I personally have no problem with them as they are educated and hard working so long as they leave any baggage behind them and accept our way of life.
Here endith the first lesson ;)

PS The Golf was good.

Oooh- cycling.:) We'll have to have a digression about cycling sometime. It's not unknown for me to talk about a little cycling of my own... see here, for example.

Although I agree with Bill O'Reilly that it's good to have less (waste) in the air, on general principles, I don't indulge in the conceit that I'm somehow "saving the planet" with my bicycle-trips.

We are a bit of a failure in that direction. I use an exercise cycle and my wife re cycles, mainly bottles.

When I started my bike-hike inland, in Welland,
I wore a t-shirt, heavy shirt, winter wool sweater, scarf, mittens and overcoat.
By the time I was bike-hiking along the Lake Erie shore at Point Abino,
I was down to just my pants and boots, the sun was so warm.

We have just had a very minor eruption from Mt Tongariro (more to follow I am sure) this would have more effects on global warming than the population of NZ could achieve in a lifetime so to hell with Bikes and zero emissions only science will help us. amen

Science won't save us - It helps us to understand - We should use common sense - Yes, the emissions from volcanic activity are far more destructive to the environment. Now where are the econazis/envirotalibans - maybe we could stuff them all into the volcanic hole, like a plug, to keep emissions down...:D:lol:
