    Pipe Organ at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

    Hi guys and gals,

    I haven't posted in some time, but I'm still fascinated by the pipe organ. I haven't even learned to play it yet, heh. Isn't that sad. I still need to work on that. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy this.
    I wrote an article for our children's web site at the Sisters of Providence about the pipe organ that is located in the Church of Immaculate Conception. Pictures are included. Let me know what you think.

    Very well done at a level children can relate to for sure. Like to hear it also.

    A very good intro for the children, indeed and very understandable too !
    Good work.

    Nicely done article .

    Periodically, the local AGO chapter has a "Pipe Organ Encounter" aimed at the younger players and those interested in learning more about our King of Instruments. In those workshops, the kids are given the opportunity to sit at the console and experience playing for themselves.

    You're welcome, Drummer ...

    Wish there were sound clips of that organ ... found the wiki page for the church, but it says very little (no specs) about the organ.

    What specs would you like to know?

    Hi Drummer,

    Would be nice to see the stoplist perhaps. I checked Martin Doering's die orgelseite, and this instrument isn't listed there.

    Hi Drummer,

    I think that is a great article for explaining the pipe organ in a way anyone can understand. I too, would enjoy some sound clips.

    Thanks greatcyber!

    Yep, I'm going to work on getting those sound clips. I'm on vacation this week, but plan to get the right people involved when I get back.

    @Krummhorn
    I'll work on getting the stoplist too.
