Seen at a motorway service station. A man wandering around with a petrol can who had "lost his wallet and just needed a couple of pounds to get him off the motorway" To my knowledge he was there all day. Must have made a fortune.

This one is as old as the hills, but was pulled on the young assistants at a nearby tea room.

Two men, one distracts the assistants by asking lots of questions etc. The other pays for a small item with a large bank note, in this case £50.00 The assistants hands him the change at which point he realizes he has small change and pays again. He the hands back the change from the £50.00 and has the note returned to him. Afterwards the assistant realises the man has kept £10.00 when returning the change. The assistant has to make up the shortfall in the till.
Now try and guess what word I am thinking of to describe them.

Oh my god, I can't receive my cds from cdklassisk.com!! I ordered more than a month ago and paid by my cc via Moneybookers system. (the store can't use paypal anymore becaues of a number of troubles, can they? paypal exclueded them and then they switched to moneybookers?)

I agree that the problem lies with the store, not paypal. Using paypal, I bought hundreds of cds from the shops and on ebay.

I'm a bit shocked because I've been having an impression(just an impression) that danish people like other northern european countries are morally superior and have better personality than other nations.

Now I hope

For an easy translation of any language into another, Google Translator is just about as good as it gets :)
Just copy/paste the foreign language into the left box, and it automatically figures out the language and will give
you the English equivelent in the right hand box. I use it all the time in conjunction with my Facebook page translating
conversations from my Danish friends' pages.

Anyone paying for goods or services by credit card may have some comeback. It is worth contacting them as you may get some joy, particularly if they have had several complaints about the same retailer.

SMALL CHANGE SCAM.

The shyster counts out your change into his hand, makeing sure that there are plenty of coins. You know it is correct. Then, as he slides the change into your hand he distracts you by talking or pointing something out. Later you realise that it is short. As he slides the change into your hand he covers one or two coins with his thunb.

thanks again teddy for your advice. i filed a claim to moneybookers.com, which the store uses for e-payment. when they can't solve, i'll contact my credit card company.

sometimes the scammer slides the coin into his long sleeve...

Finally I got my money back!! Moneybookers issued a refund. They've worked for me very fast. Thank you, everyone for having brought your attention to my problem and your advice.

btw, I wonder if there is a so-called business ethics these days where free market won and spread worldwide..., if my memory is correct, Adam Smith also said free market or capitalism encourages or helps people to act ethically, starting from being on time and keeping promises and contracts, etc to other things, but I have to question this.

Finally I got my money back!!

Great news. Just shows what persistence can do.I think a lot of people would just have given up, and the buggers would have got away with it.
Congratulations.

New Scam.

When using a credit or debit card cheque the electronic display before paying. There have been a lot of cases of people having cash back added to their cards without asking for it, or reciving the money. How many of us check our reciepts, particularly when it is a small amount of money being spent or a single item transaction. I have monthly bank statements but a lot of people have then six-monthly. And still do not check them. A skilled cheat can skim off hundreds of pounds a day in a busy store or garage. This can happen anywhere.

One of the things I liked the most about credit card transactions while on holiday in England and Denmark, is that the waitperson bring a portable credit card machine right to your table, so your card is always visible throughout the transaction.

Here in the US, the accepted practice is the waitperson will take your card to some other point in the restaurant to handle the transaction. I, personally would like to see the US adopt the practices we saw in England and other European countries.
