Getting expensive!

The local paper carried a report today that a filling station in town is charging £1.48.9 per litre for premium grade petrol, and claims it's the highest price in the country. For standard grade, prices around here are between £1.16 and £1.20 per litre.

Wow, £1.20 to £1.49 per litre? That sounds expensive. We pay ~ £1, which is still a lot, I think. That's probably why I don't have a car.

I believe Venezula is still the cheapest place for petrol. Last time I looked it was 10 pence a litre. Apparently it is subsidised by the goverment.

That is high, Mike ... it was running about £1.19 - £ 1.22 all around London and in the Liverpool area when we were there in late August.

Petrol prices are rising in the US, too ... my last fueling was at $2.79.9/gallon.

That is a ridiculous price to pay for petrol. It is bad enough at other places.

Today it was at $1.14 a litre here in Montreal. Sometimes I'll fill up when I visit my sister in Ontario, as it's usually a few cents cheaper per litre there.
