• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

New St.Maximine is ready !

Ghekorg7 (Ret)

Rear Admiral Appassionata (Ret)
Hallo to all .

Remember Da Vinci code?

Anyway, the great hisporical orgnan in St.Maximine is now available for HW3 in a new amazing version from Sonus Paradisi.
Mr Jiri Zurek delivered a work of art. Exeptional sound and standard high quality options, original and extended versions and some very high quality pictures (on site).

There's more.
A great gift is offered : a full workin' demo version !
This one gives us the whole positiv division with wet and/or surround versions workin' and can be loaded into Free version of HW3 !!!
So we get an amazing one manual positiv organ with the highest quality sound there is.

Pedal problem. To be able to play the same stops on pedals there's no pedal coupler here.... BUT : there's II/I .... so go to organ settings (individual) and change the midi input/out sending the stops to be controled from pedals !
Works great here.

Go to Sonus Paradisi site, read the history, see/get pictures, features of the organ and download the demo (or buy the set.....) and enjoy a great historical organ !

Have fun

IMHO hideously expensive...

Yeap.
That's why I put the brackets and the smilie........

But the Positiv is still the greatest.. :D have you tried a full stop tutti?!!! with Trumpet 8' on and hiting a lowest C on the pedals?
Or a sweet melody choral with Cornet on, along with Bourdon8+4' (split keyboard)?
Did you enjoy the heavenly captured St.Maximine's original reverberation?

I believe Jiri was thinkin' also those of us who can't afford to buy the full set.... It's a great gift.

Have more fun !
Panos:cool:

Keep in mind that it's very hard to build/construct a set like this... expencive equipment needed and somehow a producer must get back something and gain too to keep busines workin'... But still could be some more cheeper than it is and get more money from a lot more buyers..... Just thinkin'...

I do plan to download the demo positif. That organ is one of my favorites in CD recordings.
I dream of buying both St Maximin and San Agusti in Palma. Maybe in the years to come, if I can save enough, and when my MIDI console is finished (I hope somewhen next year), and when I'm a more apt organist.

And I do know that making a sample set is a huge task. I've been fiddling with synthesis tools some months ago, because I would love to manage to build reed stops closer to what I hear on CDs of French or Spanish organ music played on historical instruments. That project is on hold and I've no idea when I can resurrect it.
