Projection of Themes

Hello all - I was wondering what forum members' opinions may be about projection of film score themes into personal life. I have seen robust threads here about theme association and the importance of scores reflecting the story of the film. Another facet of film score popularity/appeal, at least for me, is the opportunity to find themes that "fit" into other aspects of life, such as the people in my life.

For example, I have a growing list of "people themes" which I tend to associate with folks I know, such as family members, etc. I have over the years discovered that upon hearing themes a few times, I begin to play "life videos" in my head connecting the music I'm hearing with memorable images of my family and friends, and sometimes even situations.

Does anyone else out there find this to be a familiar practice?

That's OK!

That's OK, JHC, I doubt there are many nuns in real life who run around on top of the mountains in Germany or Austria singing like Julie Andrews, so I totally understand why the question has little relevance in your context, but thanks for responding!
