Four virtuoso musicians set about making a showcase for their superb talents. :) Most importantly, the music sounds honest, from the heart. There’s a big surprise around each corner that leaving the listener to turn the next ‘page of book’. You will find complicate structures, rhythm changes presented in unusual time signatures - excellent guitar, good keyboard, strong bass, percussion parts with precision and energy. Lead vocalist has a wide sphere of influences and impressive range.

Very tasteful progressive rock that you don't hear a lot these days, well played, well produced, interesting songs. Main influences on 'Mars Hollow' come from UK bands like ELP, Yes etc., which can also heard alongside echo's of early Styx. This combination culminates in the unique sound of Mars Hollow. Their work of art deserves to be heard by a many people.

To summarize, ‘Mars Hollow’ is probably one of the finest retro-sounding debut albums I'd recommend to someone who interested in such style of prog! ;)

‘World In Front Of Me’ is the second release by MARS HOLLOW following their highly-acclaimed debut CD and, in my humble opinion, it’s even more consistent than the debut. The team of John Baker, Jerry Beller, Kerry Chicoine and Steve Mauk have come up with a splendid album where every track is a winner and really no low points at all. It’s amazing that they have four excellent vocalists. A lot of bands only can dream of such luxury. The sound is crystal clear and the band show that they have power. Undoubtedly, ‘World In Front of Me’ is much in the vein of their first release, building on a foundation of traditional US symphonic prog-rock and multiple vocal parts. The music gets a jazzy touch also. The fascination with overblown imagery remains very strong. And beauty of this album surfaces. Quite soft but brilliantly arranged compositions take surprising twists and turns, without taking away the songs flow.

Second mission successfully completed!

Sad news today, as Mars Hollow have folded  due to irreconcilable difference between some bandmembers. As for the future, bass player/vocalist Kerry Chicoine is looking at a new project of which detailes will be known soon.
