Procol Harum--Broken Barricades. Trower's licks are simply stunning, while B.J. Wilson's drumming does some serious ass-kicking!

The Nice--Elegy. Though not a "great" album to my ears, I could discern the embryonic sound of ELP, which I found to be quite interesting indeed.

Try this - a bit obscure .......SONS OF THE VEGETAL MOTHER (think they like Zappa !)

Sons of the Vegetal Mother were an "esoteric special-occasion progressive band" with a floating lineup based around the nucleus of Ross Wilson and Ross Hannaford. The band was formed in early late 1969, just after Ross Wilson returned from a stint in the UK

from album Garden Party - 1969

Today I feel like listening to Ange's "Caricatures". The album and especially the title track. Do you remember this?

Eddie, Hi. I just saw this post tonight; I am indeed a big fan of ELP. I saw them on their first American tour at Carnegie Hall in 1970. and I was simply blown away by both their creativity and Palmer's exquisite drumming.
Sorry I took so long in responding.

I decided to give my recently arrived Grand Hotel CD a "ride" on my car stereo system today. This has got to be some of the most ass-kicking, sizzling rock ever produced. Along with the opening riffs to the Stones "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", to my mind--and ears--the opening B.J.Wilson drum fills, along with the piano and Hammond Organ riffs to this song, have not been bettered in all of prog rock's glorious and varied history {Play it LOUD!}: Procol Harum – Bringing Home The Bacon

Robin Trower--Long Misty Days and In City Dreams. Tremendous, ethereal music; if Hendrix ever had had a twin brother, this guy would be it. Fantastic guitar work and effects!
