Reminds me of the scene in the film 'ZULU' where the Seargant Major was calling the roll using the soldiers serial numbers. His explanatin was that it was a Welsh Regiment and there were 28 men named Jones.

Patel's not that far down the list in UK, especially Greater London area.

AARP is The American Associatio of Retired People, an organization whose stated goal is political action to help the "elderly"..They are in my opinion a giant insurance company. One must be at least 50 to join. That is elderly? I belonged for a time but quit. Did not like their politics.

Could this be any of you?


If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. Most of my moving parts could do with being oiled.

I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull.

Its difficult to start me, once Im parked. Sometimes I forget where I am supposed to be going.

My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close my traction is not as graceful as it once was.

I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But that's not the worst of it.

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or splutter, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Should I be worried, this morning I put brown sugar & coffeemate in my cereal bowl instead of into my coffee cup, then this afternoon offered my debit card to the librarian instead of my borrower's card.

Anybody else prepared to admit to signs of approaching senility?

I tried to get some money out of the cashpoint machine with my nectar card.

I wouldn't worry too much Mike.

I have lost or broken three pairs of reading glasses up to now. I also have driving glasses, perscription sun glasses, spare reading and driving glasses but I do not have any glasses which help me find my glasses when I lose them.

You should be able to. They sell them to attach to your car keys and they now have a sender which is credit card sized. The attachment then issues a loud whistle. It should be possible to program your phone to send the message which means that you could use a different numbers for different objects i.e. keys, glasses, false teeth etc. We better get Mike working on it.

There are only three signs of old age, the first is memory loss. I forget the other two.
