Couple more minor niggles, the "Report" and other icons along the bottom of posts are barely visible, dark grey on blue, some have text as well which is visible.

The options at the top are a bit inconsistent, sometimes "Mark all threads read" shows then when clicked the "Forum Actions" then becomes visible and you have to then select Mark all threads from that.
    Cheers MIKE.

Yup, it works fine now. I don't have to hit F5 anymore. Thanks, Lars.

By the way, is it possible to change the settins so when I press "Reply With Quote" it opens the text in the advanced window (as it's been so far) and not in "Quick Reply" window?

Mat, glad to hear that solved the refreshing of the forum pages ...

As to the reply with quote, it defaults to the basic editor ... mainly because most people don't want, or need, the extra tools to reply with.
There is a button at the bottom right "Go Advanced" which when clicked upon will open up the advanced window for reply. It's only one additional mouse click, and is what I do most of the time.

    ^^ Ok, that's fair enough.

I have two more issues. When I go to Unread Posts, it is hard for me to distinguish between the posts I'm subscribed to and the rest of them. And I think before the upgrade, after logging in, there was also a visible distinction between new posts and those that "haven't been changed (not sure if this was the exact word) since my last visit". Is it possible to get that feature back?

And the last thing (at least for now ), would it be possible to move the Quick Links drop down to the Welcome Bar in the upper right corner as it was before the upgrade? This way we would have all the most useful functions within one area. I realise though it would affect all users, and not all of them might like the idea.

I notice that HTML and Image BB Code is not allowed in signature, is that for any particular reason ?

I also notice animated gif's are not allowed in signatures, I'll admit I've seen some rather horrendous ones at times, but I was thinking more on the lines ofAttachment 2071, which I use on other forums

Although this does have a musical component, like things are really humming?
    Cheers MIKE.

The enabling of HTML is considered a security risk in vBulletin terminology ... it can also cause higher server loads

As for 'animation' it is only allowed in avatars, not signatures ... and then only those members with 500 or more posts have that capability. Why they are not enabled is a mystery. I'll have to check on that.

I can see it being a problem with larger animateds as Colin says, however possibly a limit of 1 animated with a size limit, as for an animated avatar, that does have some possibilities.
    Cheers MIKE.

Limits for those are: 500 (H) X 100 pixels (W) ... or 20 KB, whichever is smaller. Reason height is extended is that there is more vertical space to the left of the posts.

These cosmetic issues will eventually be solved ... as with any software upgrade there will be be idiosyncrasies ... this particular upgrade was a very major update (from v3.8.4 to v4.1.3) and caused some havoc with various 'mods' we had in place that are no longer compatible with the new software version.

Once we get all the major fires extinguished, we will start working on the more insignificant minor ones.

Cool ... I'm counting on it, Colin ... after all - no job is ever complete until the paperwork is done .

As I told Frederik long ago when he first promoted my to his staff here ... I'm in it for the long haul ... and I am. This place (MIMF) is a very special place, the likes I have never seen in any other fora - It's the people who make MIMF what it is.

You are spot on Lars and have you noticed that sometimes we even talk about music.

We do, Colin ... and we do that very well, too.

And, congratulations on being the first member to start their own Blog here.

Slowly getting used to the new format. Mike had to point out to me the "report" and "reputation" buttons. Could you not change the colour of these to make them stand out more.

PS anyone want to buy some pearls?
