Classics songs that make you cry

I'd rather go for "Sad Sad Sad" by The Rolling Stones, if we're speaking about sad songs.

Well, these songs are not prog rock or metal, but here are two french songs that really get to me:

Avec Le Temps as sung by Léo Ferré

and

Ne Me Quitte Pas as sung by Jacques Brel

Other music that really gets to me-

Nothing to Lose by Billy Talent (now that`s rock)

and

the opening (and other parts) of Tosca by Puccini

betsy- May I just add that your posts/threads are fun and refreshing.

...though slightly predictable in that we know they're always going to mention the Rolling Stones - what other bands do you like betsy?

Good point, mhoarse- I guess I posted that before I read enough of betsy`s posts. However, I still find some of the posts entertaining...

Hmm I guess it depends on which mood I´m in, when it´s really bad even a commercial can make me cry, yearh I know I´m a crybaby
grin.gif
. But if I have to choice I would say

A lot of the songs by SchmidtPedersen, no need to mention all the songs, but even though there is a lot of humor in their songs, the lyrics are still pretty deep and make you thing and I love listening to them and no I´m not crying all the time
wink.gif
, then I would probably have a headache by now, because it´s the only thing I´m listening to at the moment
grin.gif

Suede especially Down, Heroine and Beautiful ones, there´s is something about his voice that makes me cry, but still I also love listening to Suede, Hmm I guess I must be a sucker for self-torture
crazy.gif

Charles Chaplin the last 1 1/2 minut of Reunited, it´s so beautiful

And last but not least some classical music, I can´t remember names at the moment, sorry

There is probably a lot of other songs that can make me cry, I think it´s pretty common that songs reminds you of good or bad things that have happend in your live and that they therefore makes you either laugh or cry

There are a lot of songs there can make me cry, but specially two songs by SchmidtPedersen can really make me cry, because they remind me of me own feelings and they are telling a lot about me self and so on
crazy.gif
The two songs are Taber and Forelskelsens bitre smag, and of course some of there others song can make me cry to.. But I'm only listning to SchmidtPedersen at the moment like Jette, even then the songs can make me cry, they also remind me of a great time with the theatreconcert "Sange Indefra"
tongue.gif
, and it brings a little smile to my face
laugh.gif

There are also some songs by Bryan Adams there really can make me cry, but there is no reason to name them here because there a lot of his song there make me cry

I forgot to mention Crystal Waters - Gypsy woman, it reminds me of when I lived in Spain (great place
up.gif
) and the Danish natioanl Anthem, there is nothing more beautiful than hearing it beeing sung by 40.000 people
cool.gif
. Hmm it probably know sounds like I´m sad and crying all the time, which I´m not
wink.gif
, but remember it can also be happy tears

A lot of songs make me cry, but the ultimate "cry-song" is "Time to say goodbye"....

If I just think about it, my tears will start running.
All songs with the word "goodbye" in, are songs that make me cry.... Goodbye is a STUPID word!!!

By the way I forgot one song, and it makes me cry everytime I hear it
bawling.gif
.. Even when I heard it in the musical Midt om Natten, but in that musical was it also preformed by Claus Riis Østergaard and Mads M. Nielsen
wink.gif

The song I am talking about is Tik tik by Kim Larsen, it is telling how I lost my own friendship with my best friend
shake.gif
.. And we have not talked together since, so it did not end good like in the musical

He he I would call the end in MON a happy ending as well
crazy.gif
, but it´s kind of funny, when I think about it... Benny is in love with Susan Himmelblå but gets arrested and thrown in jail, Susan Himmelblå is in love with Benny, but pregnant with Arnolds child and Arnold well his just a goofy womanizer. I guess there is no special definition of the term happy ending
grin.gif

But Tik Tik is a great song in the MON version, I love that song, but it doesn´t make me cry, hmm I love all the MON songs, nice to hear the songs performed by somebody who can actually sing

Maybe the end in MON is not a happy happy edning
crazy.gif
, but Arnold and Benny become friends again witch was my little point
wink.gif
.. But no it was not really a happy ending when I think about it, because as you write Jette: Benny goes to jail and is in love with Susan, who is pregnat with Arnold but loves Benny
confused.gif
.. And yea Arnold is a goofy womanizer
tongue.gif
..

I do love all the MON song to, but Tik Tik makes me cry specially in the version with Claus Riis Østergaard and Mads M. Nielsen
smirk.gif
.. And yea it were nice to hear the songe performed by somebody who could sing
clap.gif
.. Just loved Bjarne Antonisens version of Tjikker likker tjau tjau, it do not make me cry, but his voice makes it run cold down my back

Hmm...seems there are plenty of crybabies here...

I agree, Christine- I prefer `see you later` or even `see you around`. But I don`t think that would have the same effect...

One song that always makes me cry is Alone by Heart. The song just reaches to my soul and tugs and strings i didn't even know i had. I can feel the sadness and pain of the singer and in a sense i want to help her get over it, also he lyrics are really relate able.

I thought I had already posted here - must have been the same question on another forum. Anyway, two songs for me:

Nur zu Besuch (Die Toten Hosen), about visiting the grave of a recently departed loved one.

I can't see New York (Tori Amos), about a woman dying in an airplane in the 9/11 attack.

classic songs that make me cry

There are a lot of church hymns that bring tears to my eyes. Amazing
Grace is one of them and Doxology is another one. A more modern praise
and worship song is God will make a way. If you are having trouble in
your life or day and you hear God will make a way, I will garrantee the
song will bring tears to your eye.

ye,

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See, on the portals he's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary, come home
