Your eyes!

I wrote a poem some years ago, and it has been in my drawer since (actually I forgot it existed), but here it is.

(Warning: A bit sentimental and very "girlie-like"

Your eyes

When I see into your eyes
I see fear
Fear of feeling inadequate
Fear of getting hurt
Fear of being abandoned

When I see into your eyes
I see courage
Courage to love
Courage to be honest
Courage to be vulnerable

When I see into your eyes
I see doubt
Doubt of who you are
Doubt of who I am
Doubt if there's any sense to it all

When I see into your eyes
I see hope
Hope of being loved
Hope of being understood
Hope that God will hear your prayers

When I see into your eyes
I see anger
Anger of being misunderstood
Anger of being used
Anger of being so much in doubt

When I see into your eyes
I see love
Love for your self
Love for other people
Love for me

When I see into your eyes
I see you - I see me
I love your eyes
when they look at me
and I get the chance to see you....

Ophelia
When it rains tonight, I'll go out and play.
I'll build a sandcastle in the rain
And sprinkle flowers all over it.
I'll sing it happy songs
And laugh over the cold, wet sand.
As it washes away in the rain,
I'll sing it a lullaby.
I'll watch as the flowers float away into the darkness
Where the light from my torch can't reach.
And when my torch flickers and dies,
I'll go live in the sandcastle that was washed away.

A gypsy queen sold me a dream
It only cost a smile
I'd seen her before
So we closed the door
And I left her with a child

A vagabond king can't take along a queen
That might cramp his style
There's too many more
That will close the door
And risk a gypsies child

Gypsies pay for the games they play
It only costs them a smile
But to smile today
Is more than I can pay
'Cause I miss my gypsies child

Dance.....Dance gypsies child
Dance all night and day
Dance....Dance gypsies child
Listen to the guitars play

This is a poem I wrote supposedly in the style of William Shakespeare... I thought I'd post it as it's one of by best attempts!!

Sonnet

Will thee not cometh at the cusp of the day?
To watch as the sun dies it’s watery death
Plunging to the depths of the sea of silver-grey
As the birds come to roost in silhouette trees
As the creatures of the night crawl out to the moon
Will thee not stay as the skies above darken
As the stars and the moon begin their celestial dance
Will thee not sail with me into the night
On the sea of pure black with the dark waves of silk
And away we will go to a land all our own
And thither stay, in a land of no desires
To live out our lives in perfect harmony
If thou dost not come on the cusp of the day,
I will stay on my own, in the cold. Alone.
