Ok, then. The song comes from a 1996 album. Also, the pianist is Canadian.

Canadian and the style would point me to Oscar Peterson, but by 1996 I don't think he was recording so unless the album is a re-release it may not be Oscar.

According to Wikipedia, Peterson recorded eight albums after 1995 so I guess it might have beem him. But not in this case.

Here's the next clue. We're looking for a female Canadian pianist.

That is correct, Teddy.

The solo comes from Hit That Jive Jack song, which comes from a 1996 album - All for you (A dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio) by Diana Krall.

Your turn.

K, here's some clues: he's a multiple Grammy Award laureate; both as a frontman and sideman, he recorded close to a 1000 albums.

Only five views in almost six months? C'mon, guys. If you don't have the faintest idea what it might be, at least take a guess.

Right Mat,
I din't try to answer this one because it's not my kind of music and I dont know the musicians too well.
But here is a go - is it the dreaded John Coltrane?

I'm afraid it's not Coltrane, John.

Stu, it's not Lovano either, but he and the sax player we're looking for recorded an album together back in 2004.

I will have one more wild guess Mat. Tommy Smith? I say this mainly because when I last attended a Joe Lovano concert they were together in a Smith led group.

OK, Stu & John. Time to solve the mistery.

The piece is called No Lonely Nights and comes from a Charlie Haden album called American Dreams featuring Michael Brecker on tenor saxophone.

Who shall post the next one?

Sorry Mat I will have to go and try and figure out how to do this, or if I even can post clips.

John, I have scanned my tenor players on the CD shelves, given it a lot of thought, thought I might know who, but alas,I just can't come up with an answer.
