Damn, you're good, Stu.

And the particular album? Extra points for that

That's tough,Mat. I have listened to a few Art Blakey tracks but not easy to say if your track comes from one of those recordings. I have some other stuff with Lee Morgan but again not easy to call. I'll give it a guess though. Freedom Rider?

It comes from The Gigolo, not one of the albums he recorded with Art. It was recorded in 1965 and The Freedom Rider in 1961, so you were just four years off.

How 'bout this one?

Okay, Stu. How about a clue then?

He's known for his kind of "flamboyant" behavior on stage. Also, in between playing, he tends to use the piano as a percussion instrument.

I had thought of Keith Jarrett but the piano style in the clip didn't quite fit his style.

He's over 30 years younger than Jarrett.

And btw - how would you rate this clip? John, if you're reading this - would love to know your rating as well.

Ok, here's another clue:

This month will be two years since he had his own programme on BBC Radio 2.

BTW - what's 'in the pocket' mean? I can't seem to find a fitting definition.

Mat, as a last desperate throw of the dice I will go for Julian Joseph.

'In the pocket'. Sometimes used as a description for a straightahead style with a solid tight rhythm section.

No Stu, not Julian Joseph.

OK, one last clue - he's also a singer.

Yup, Jamie Cullum it is. Who wants to post the next clip?

I'm not 100% sure but I'll go with Desmond/Brubeck.

Sorry lads, neither of those. Recorded Vanguard 1954. Compilation of this and 3 other LPs recorded mid 1950s featuring the pianist with various groupings from trio to octet was released on 2 CDs around 2006.
