This CD and other Mel Powell ones are available from Amazon downloads, sound samples also. The "Return of Mel Powell" CD I was not so impressed with, recorded live on a cruise liner hosting a "jazz festival", quite a bit of extraneous noise and some of the sound quality a bit below standard.

Thanks for the information Mike. I did own a Mel Powell Vanguard LP but loaned it out a few years ago and never did get it back! Most of my Powell stuff is with Benny Goodman and JATP. I also enjoyed the sides he recorded with Paul Quinichette. I never heard any of the sides he made with Chuck Russo.

And the tune is indeed a bit disturbing - A must be at least five cents below 440 Hz
