A lovely bit of jazz

Well John, the piano player kinda dominated the whole piece, so no place was left for the alto (or soprano, for that matter)...

OK Mat - you've flattened me again. There's no answer to that.

Hi Gord, - I love that music but you know, despite me considering myself a big West Coast fan I only know the names and not the sounds
I'm off to Spotify to rectify things.

It really wasn't my intention to "flatten" you, John. I was wondering though, if the track would be to your liking.

Only Monk could hit those minor or "off-minor" chords and somehow still stay consonant with whatever piece he was playing. A truly remarkable musician and artist.

Hi Mat - I did say great music and then put my silly (supposed to be humerous) bit in about the no alto. (The video picture did show Charlie Parker)
Sorry - I guess most people have to persevere to live with my sense of humour - in the case of my wife, that hasn't happened up to now after 48 years
of marriage)

Hi Gord,
On the whole I tend to enjoy Monk (and this one I liked), but sometimes he gets well beyond the limits of my perceptual ability
and it becomes too much like hard work.

Hey John, you're sense of humour is fine. I'm just likely to misunderstand a post of two every now and then as English is not my first language.

Here's some decent (and recent) video that does include an alto player. He's not as good as Bird obviously, but I hope you'll like him.
