My views on 3 posts of yesterday.

Gord. That track of yours really embodies what I personally consider to be the very best of Jazz - the stuff I want to listen to.
Ok all you other guys with different views.- I totally respect your love of different types of jazz which are not to my own personel liking.

Jazzic. I look forward to your posts on Jazz-as long as they aren't adverts.

teddy. Please dont get too carried away by the the type of blues that you demonstrated as being the foundation of Jazz-(although it obviously
has its place as an influence in vocal jazz).
The true foundation of group jazz is the very early development of marching bands.
I was once fortunate enough while visiting Edinburgh to witness a demonstration of jazz marching bands and it knocked me out.

@ OLDDUDE, John, Again, thanks for those comments you posted above. I will always extend to you the same respect, regardless of our somewhat different jazz likes.

Yes please, John. But not Sidney Bechet. He uses so much vibrato he makes the soprano sound like a wounded goat...

Steve,

To put it as delicately as possible - clarinet in jazz to me is what guitar or Hammond are to you.
