Converting 4 part brass score to keyboard score.

As the title suggests I'm messing about again; I've downloaded some Corelli sonata MIDI files from WIMA, then imported to Finalé (originally written for violin and keyboard), arranged for 4 part brass, 2 trumpets, trombone and bass trombone, importing into Finalé no problem, copy paste bass trombone to pedal OK, trombone to LH manual also OK, one trumpet part to RH manual OK, but trying to add the second trumpet to RH manual just over writes the first, so I tried opening a second layer and pasting to that - zilch!

Reading the online manual implies that you can do anything to another layer without affecting the first, true as far as entering notes manually, but false when it comes to copying! It also inplies you can merge layers.

I've also got the violin/keyboard score as PDF but not yet found a way to convert PDFs to XML apart from one app at $199!

Any ideas, or do I have to enter it by hand!

Found an answer from the Finale forum, the way to do it involved changing the layer of one staff, fairly well hidden how to achieve it, but seems to have worked, only problem now is the second layer shows in red, however that doesn't matter too much for what I want. Now to go through and check I've not got any extreme fingering like octave and a half spreads! Then all that remains is three more movements to convert, then edit stops into the Midi file by hand.

All seems to be going according to plan now, I've got the 4 part brass into Finalé as a 2 manual and pedal, preliminary test on GrandOrgue runs OK, few tweaks needed then have to edit the registration changes into the MIDI file.
