    Re: Fokus

I have this album, its very good. Focus are a great band, you may also want to try Focus III as another solid album from Focus.

    Hi Rojo

    Spelling it wrong

"FOCUS" and "HOCUS POCUS" when published in English and yes I think there is a stream of it somewhere I'll try to find the site and drop you it. Some of this bands work has been criticised, it has been called "documentary film music" and the like.
Shocking when you think they pre-date Tangerine Dream using basically acoustic instruments.

See someone else helped you out I think that album "Moving Waves" is still available on CD but not vinyl.

I loved Focus. I had the live album that had Thijs Van Leer singing the introductions to the band during 'Hocus Pocus'. 'Hocus Pocus' was the Thijs van Leer based classic with him yodelling his head off and playing flute. The Jan Akkerman classic where the guitar featured more heavily was 'Sylvia'.

Both of these tracks were in the British charts at the same time - Focus never came back.

    Hocus Pocus

    Hello guys,

sorry I'm maybe a bit too late with this topic... ok, I'm new for this forum too. I chance to have a video of FOCUS and find it really interesting - well, Thijs van Leer plays Hammond not THAT mad as, say, Keith Emerson - but it is worth seeing ( and hearing ) anyway. How many of you can play both Hammond, flute and make yodeling ( sometimes simultaneously )? And... one more interesting piece of the Focus - Hamburger Concerto.

    keep on rockin'

Hamburger concerto is my favourite Focus album, especially the title track. Fantastic band and what a pity that most people only know them from Hocus Pocus.
