    Cornell MacNeill

    Received word that Baritone Cornell MacNeil passed away today. He was the possessor of one of the most powerful voices of the 20th Century.

    Here is a sample of one of his best roles.

    Here is another clip showing MacNeill in some live productions late in his career, posted by a dedicated opera lover (not me). They are performances from the later 1970's and early 80's when he was approaching 60 and past that milestone. I know of no baritone singing today who can compare.
