What albums have been released this year that you feel have been deeply overlooked or underated?

Ill choose two....the first is this. Benedetti is one of the finest young British Violinists in a long long long time and this album has a superb selection of tracks including a new compostion by Tavener who was so impressed by her that he worte this for her album. Nicola could have chosen the obvious violin tracks by the 'biggest' composers but she gives us a fine selection of the following.....

1. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1, Op. 35 - Szymanowski
2. Havanaise for Violin and Orchestra Op. 83 - Saint-Saëns
3. Poème for Violin and Orchestra Op. 25 - Chausson
4. Méditation from Thaïs - Massenet
5. Wie melodien zieht es mir - Brahms/Arr Julian Reynolds
6. Fragment for the Virgin - John Tavener
