Hi

Ah. So this is where all the cool musicians are hanging out. I'm really glad I've found you and I've already heard some very interesting music after just a minutes looking around.

I look forward to giving and receiving some feedback - I usually work alone and as many of you no doubt know, that can leave you hungering for interaction with like-minded souls.

See you soon

Hi Bill, thanks too for your kind welcome - As I imagine is true of many here, I have several layers of musical interests, starting from a sort of anthropological/historical overview - then moving through time to my own teen-age influences (still with me) with the likes of Pete Townshend/Roger Waters - back in time to artists who broke our ears open such as Stravinsky - onward to folk /blues/jazz/ ending up at computer based recording/simple composing in a kind of Cirque du Soleil style - and my current wheelhouse of political/social consciousness songwriting/composing in a basic rock manner hopefully using all the above and whatever else I come accross.

I also enjoy long run on sentences with lots of comma's, backslashes and hyphens :)

Hi Margaret - thanks for your welcome.

My main access to music is through the guitar. I use piano (but not really play it per se) as a sort of side bar/counterpoint and I will take a run - in a rudimentary fashion - at anything I have available on the theory that simple can also be direct. Often the point of my music is found in the lyric. Beyond my 30 years experience, I am not trained in any way. Part of my grounding in creativity came as a student of a well know Canadian painter, though I do not delve into visual arts.

I look upon skilled violinists, pianists and many others in awe and wonder! :)

Thank you GoneBaroque

Toronto indeed is an amazing city. The poet in me will always see my hometown as a beautiful and mysterious place, still in the infancy of creating its own mythology, respectfully adding to its own history by honouring the cultural mosaic created by the very real presence of a multitude of people from a multitiude of countries and other cities.

Wow. It really does overwhelm me sometimes and also helps me understand the great affection so many here have of for their own origins and family histories. :)
