• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

ancient organ in Italy

What a beautiful little church, and I loved the tone of the organ. The translation from Google was not exact, but close enough to help my poor Italian

For an organ this size, tonally, it has a good variety. I have many CDs of Italian organs and I wonder if a CD was done on this one.

Ciao Andrea,

Thanks for the link. Beautiful organ and I think short octave is strange for a 1770's organ. Very good pictures of it and Church interior.

Alessandro played extremelly well Galuppi's sonata. The organ's sound is delightful. I would like to get samples of it so I could do a VPO set with jOrgan !

Andrea,

Grazie !

I liked the sonata very much. 1st mov, yes, close to Haydn style. The superb Adagio in the beggining reminded me Vivaldi but some bars later came close to Mozart/Haydn era. Triumphant 3rd mov with the trompetta takin' over. Ingeniously composed variations and progressions in all movements.
I downloaded the video for my archive. Please accept my humble congratulations.

In SanAndrea the organ sounds fantastic ! Has other reed stops apart this super trumpet?
Though I came to Italy many many times in the past, I never been in Iseo... Now I have a good motivation !

Thanks for your compliments they flatter me,
in this organ the trumpet is the only register reed stops.
Iseo is especially good for the lake scene, in July there is a major jazz festival of this area, and sometimes there are concerts of organ.
Iseo is close to the mountain and the hill

Very enjoyable pieces.. I too like the sonata..the adagio is really nicely flowing with expressive feeling; Presto would take alittle work...LOL sounds Mozarty( new word )

di nulla! in effetti ci sono molti organi italiani in piccole chiese nascoste a volte dimenticati.
Per esempio qui nel mio comune c'è un organo Cadei del 1600' nella piccola chiesa di Sant'Eufemia

Ciao Andrea,

Can we have some demo/link of this Cadei 1600 organ? It's the sound/disposition close to Antegniatti 1600 one in Brescia, St.Carlo ?

PS. he he time for me to refresh my little Italian......
PS 2. My favourite is the one in Santa Maria della Salute in Venezia.
