One of my favourite jazz pieces is Dave Brubeck's 'Unsquare Dance" unsquare as in 7/4 metre. the dancers are not too bad either. This version is not good musically but you will all no doubt be familiar with it

Looking at a video that Lorenzo just posted I came across this what a sad state of affairs when he is all but ignored?? I know it goes on a bit but I would have given him a couple of bucks as did the odd passer by.

Regarding the first video it is amazing how a key change can give a lift to a performance, an old jazz trick. pity the camera man missed you Mike.

The above is 'Scottish Country Dance' - not to be confused with 'Highland Dance' which was something done solo by Highland soldiers to keep fit and warm.

You caan also use "highland steps" in some traditional dances like this

We were just listening to our Broadside cd of Playford music as we drove back from a showery afternoon in Southwold & I noticed Epping Forest as a great tune.
And here's the dance - much as I imagined, with a lot of 'turning single'. :)
