I have noticed since the crash that at odd times the cursor sticks, disappears and behaves down right unfriendly. also I have just spent 1/2 an hour trying to upload a pic from my online storage site and found that the transfer just freezes I also think Judy J has had the same problems I do not get this on any other site ? as I type this all is OK is the site becoming overloaded or shhhhh (hacked) my PC is steaming at full speed so that is not the problem but, it could of course be my ISP???

This is the first time I have been able to access the forum from home since Thursday morning. My broadband has been down since then and nothing they have been able to do has helped, until this morning. Did you miss me? Technology can be very frustrating. Hope to catch up with the jazz threads. Colin, have you tried hitting the computer?

No problems experienced here with MIMF.

I would advise against hitting or kicking the computer unless you've had training on where and how hard to hit.

Things to check:

  • browser "cache" ... this is 'memory' where cookies are stored from visiting other sites. This site actually dumps its cookies when one ends their session (they have to log off in order for that to happen). The "cache" can usually be accessed using the browsers "tools" menu.
  • this forum has certain 'limitations' on file size, and or pixels (width and length), and if the file exceeds those limits, the upload will hang.

Problems related to cursor freezing or disappearing would be browser or PC related ... and possibly an ISP issue. The forum software can only run if there is a connection to the ISP ... it is dependent on that ... especially if the ISP connection is slower at peak times.

There is a simple test anyone can perform on their ISP connection. Just go to this site Speedtest to test your current connection speeds.

I routinely manually dump my "cache" (cookies and history of sites visited) every 14 days just to keep things humming along nicely. Our PC's need periodic attention just like our cars do to keep running smoothly.

And, ask Mike where the "hit" points actually are ... ... if all else fails.

Lars, I have checked speed and it does fluctuate particularly when school is out this could be part of the problem, and I do delete temp int files about twice a week, I should add that in the end I uploaded from my PC OK but still could not download the same file from my online storage (Photobucket) to forum so to me seems the problem is between my online storage and MIMF site, I will recheck my settings at Photbucket, Thank you.

OK I have checked my settings @ Photobucket all is OK,
I have tried to enter a pic from Photobucket on TC and this site absolutely nothing it just freezes, I have tried other sites and encounter no problems what so ever.

@teddy Yes teddy my post is just above yours,
@Lars Cursor is functioning perfectly at this time which leads me to suspect perhaps an overload at site
