Used to live in California myself ... Orange County (Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Irvine), but that was years ago ... left there in 1980.

If I would have known what it was really like here, never would have moved here! The heat makes me very sick every year. I have to be very careful, as I suffer from heat stroke very easily. Losing my pigments, so can't be in the intense sun very long.

I do enjoy gardening all year long!!! I have lots of vegetables and even flowers growing even in the dead of winter. Now if I can just get rid of the nasty thieving gophers .....

Hi Jim,

I hear you on the heat issue ... Summers here in Tucson are almost unbearable for myself ... but my wife can't stand the cold/damp climates, so we stay put.
