Fancy Teddy having an engine named after him. Does that mean he has gone a little loco? (Sorry Teddy.)

Well, it was bound to happen. Thank goodness they did not name another one Ducky (don't you dare find it Mike)

Launcestone Steam Railway

Started in 1971 and laid along part of the old Brunel line this 2' gauge railway is a far cry from the original 7'0 1/4 track. They have four quarry Hunsletts inluding one built with an integrated cab. All are 0-4-0 saddle tanks with the particular charm of that breed. Currently the track is 2 1/2 miles, with plans for a further 2 miles.

Pitured is Dorothea originally built in 1901 and almost ending her life as a pile of components.

There are a variety of coahes from as far afield as Devon and Manx.

A lovely little line being beautiffuly restored.

Thanks Mike. I had hope to get on to live steam modelling. There is a beauty at Towyn (Tallylyn Wharf Station). Some nice film of the little railways in Wales. I had featured all these but its nice to see them in action.
Margaret. Well tried but only a C- I am afraid.

Llechfan Garden Railway (Tallylyn Railway, Towyn Wharf Station)

A beautiful steam driven layout based mainly on the Tallylyn Railway and operating regularly. This shows NO 1 Tallylyn in steam and pulling a goods train. Based so closely on the full sized Fletcher and Jennings 0-4- 0 saddle tank.

The locos mob handed.

Not a terribly good film but it gives an idea how much love and attention has gone into this railway, rather like the full size one.

Glad to hear this thread is providing enjoyment to you and has attracted so many entries from members. I thought it might be a little self indulgent when I started it. There are a lot more railways out there that I would like to add, and hopefully provide enjoyment with.

Hi Teddy. I see that you are keen on steam! I haven't attempted this before but just as a matter of interest I was once a locomotive fireman for a few years after I left school (about a hundred years ago it seems now). I am not sure if this will turn out okay, I sometimes enjoy a weekend at a local steam perservation depot near me and sometimes I get to re- enact my shovelling duties. That's me leaning out the cab on a loco I once worked on, D49 Class, Morayshire
