Baroque and other early bits

If I could add a video to add to this thread, I would.
I'd like to comment that music of this era is very fascinating for me.
When you see what Europe's humanity was doing at this time in history,
all this musical technology reveals the creative interests and dedication to creativity,
and the music itself reveals the psychology of society.
I think of the hundreds of years of dark, high contrast paintings, some copying the Sistine Chapel,
when modern cleaning reveals the bright, almost primary colours the original artist used.
Musical compositions can't be like that. You either play the notes as written on the designated instruments,
or it's just not the same.

I first heard Red Priest about four years ago. They have played their recordings on a number of occasions. They do have a refreshing approach to their interpretations. In their Autumn movenent of Four Seasons they even work in a quotation form God Save The queen.

Back to William Boyce, the first work does get some air time, but I can't understand how so much of his other work seems to be ignored even in UK. I do notice from the Youtube videoa that quite a few of his works do get performed by various school orchestras some better than others!

Symphony No4

Overture for St Cecillia's day

Concerto Grosso in E minor (love the second & fourth movements)
