I though it was about time that we had something a bit more educational here, so my first amazing fact is;-

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

Here is one for the boys.

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.

The roaches in Hawaii(5 inches when full-grown) pop like a firecracker when you stomp on them.

We have spiders called 'Avondale Spider' which are huge 8-12 inches across, during my first few days in NZ I was on a pic nic and was half way through a cheese sandwich which I put down to have a drink when I heard this maniacal laughter and saw the remains of my sandwich being carried away by one of these beasts, thank goodness I had some left.
