I agree. Mercury for a start not to mention all the other rubbish they can ingest. I believe oysters will only survive in clean water.

Have you heard about the meat machine.
They're saying in three years people will be able to use proteins and other organic ingredients,
and use a microwave sized machine to convert it to meat, indistinguishable from, uh, bone-grown.

I do not like the sound of that John. I would prefer my meat to come straight from an animal, at least hopefully there are no nasty things in it.

"Food Safety"??? Have we ever heard of OXYMORON???

Take three shot glasses of 151 proof if you're worried about microbes:smirk::grin::alc:

Once again this year we grew what we could. It definitely tastes better and gives you more confidence eating it. Eggs we get free range and we know the farm they come from. I have a third of an acre of ground which we may try and live off if I can't get permission to build and that is big enough for all our food needs including chickens and maybe a pig as well. OK, babanas we would still have to buy, unless they are right about global warming.

The Eu has decided, in its wisdom, that certain birds and animals only have to be in this country for a month to be labelled British. Chickens `from China, livestock from Bulgaria, it will all be British. I only hope that the British farmers will be able to come up with a labeling system that clearly shows where the produce was actually breed, otherwise we could end up eating anything.

Could be worse it could be applied to processed animals.

A few years ago the French were shipping processed chickens over here which originated from China but with French labels on them. The Asian Bird Flu epidemic put paid to that.

Not until I know what's in it ... I have problems with the "industrial nutrients" where it says "like" ... so they are actually not those listed, but something "like" those?

A local gym instructor said to consume a glass of oatmeal and cold water before coming for the workout ... I looked at that mixture and just could not come to terms with it even being close to edible, let alone what it really looked like.

I'll stick to my Glucerna for now ... and my salad for lunch.

I'm a bit iffy about fish these days, with all the seas polluted with god knows what, radiation is the big thing, they talk about global warming all the time, but they never mentions our polluted oceans.

This reminds me of when I was in hospital many years back in America, I was offered oatmeal for breakfast, so like a true Scot I ordered oatmeal , thinking it would be like the traditional Scot's porridge. but horror upon horror met my eyes when it arrived, it was a round steaming blob made with hot water and salt. It was utterly unpalatable!

When the FDA allows corporations to use herbicide to speed drying of food crops to get them to market quicker, you know our health has been sold out.
