Jazz Piano Through The Years

That was excellent John. Something about the older guys, they ooooozed class, and that song will never lose it's charm. Two giants of the piano.

I sang out the lyrics loudly as I listened, then the cat ran away, the dog put it's paws over it's eyes, and my wife hollered Shut Up!
Some folks around my house are just plain tone deaf!!:)

Sorry Mat - It sounded like beautifully played classical to me (and I turned it back to the start).
However I am certain that Chopin would have played great jazz piano if he were alive today.

Of course, John. No doubt it's classical. And played by a top shelf musician, too. It's just that this part shows some similarities with the concept of stride playing (bass note-jump-chord pattern in the left hand).

This one features Nat Pierce, with Woody Herman. Nat, (a drinking buddy of mine one long memorable afternoon in London, as I hazily recall, hhhhicup...he introduced me, ...no, (your minds are running amoke!) not to a blonde or brunette, but to Tiger Beer!!). Nat played maybe some a la Basie, chucked in some stride along the way, and could swing with the best of them.
