Strange how everyone brings up topics about every instrument except the human voice which is probably the most versatile instrument there is when used fully is there anywhere on this site for vocalist & singers

Hi Sparky...
I agree with you that our voice is an instrument and I sing a little bit...actually I started to learn solo singing in high school, then I stopped and on my 3rd year of coledge(a few years ago)I decided to continue singing...Now I've got a great teacher and I'm making some progress
So..there are vocalists here just they're hiding

Hi Izabella,

Rachmaninoff and Chaikovskii have composed vocal music which I often perform in the language which they were written in - Simply glorious music in an especially glorious language for singers since Russian has ten vowels.

Hi Sparky,

Boosey & Hawkes has two volumes of Rachmaninoff's songs:

http://www.boosey.com/pages/shop/product_detail.asp?id=602978&a=

Boosey & Hawkes also has 60 Lieder by Tchaikovsky:

http://www.boosey.com/pages/shop/composer_search.asp

Just scroll down the page on Boosey's website.

As a *heldenbariton* I find much of the above composer's vocal repertoire is accessible to me. I will transpose a piece no more than an augmented third down if it is in the higher range. Dmitri Hvorostovskii and Sergei Leiferkus have recorded songs of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovskii. Renee Fleming has sung some of Rachmaninoff's songs. I wouldn't mind if Bryn Terfel did a recording of Rachmaninoff.

Here's a webpage for Dover Editions:

Here's another link:

Hope this helps.

Hi,Giovanni...

I haven't performed any Tchaikovsky but I heard some of his vocal music and it's beautiful...

I have to ask, have you ever heard any of the Croatian vocal music??I'm working on a beautiful short romantic composition written by Dora Pejacevic(she is one of the few female compositors, she wrote also piano music)so I started searching for other croatian authors and if I may say...there are a LOT of great work(also in German or Italian language)

I hope you(or anyone else)have heard of some Croatian music:)

Hi Izabella,

I once heard some Croatian Choral music many years ago - I forget the name of the composer but it certainly had a religious component to it and was strikingly beautiful. I'll have to do some more research on Croatian composers - thanx for the tip about Dora Pejacevic.

Hi Giovanni I am sorry but I have been very busy arranging a tour for Tim Pitman so could not reply as soon as I would have liked I apologise. You mentioned that you wouldn't mind if Bryn Terfel did a recording of Rachmaninoff, I always thought that Bryn Terfel was alledgedly a tenor. Send me the dots & I will get Tim to record it, then you can compare Tims voice. For a young man of 36yrs he has a natural talent & a vocal range that cannot be taught, but then I am predudice, I have listened to many renditions of most of the popular Popopera & PopArias as they are now called & Tim is an artist who is up there with the best & much better when seen live. This is probably because we make all our own recordings in a home studio & obviously cannot compete with the big boy's but as I said before listen to Tim on his web site www.timpitman.com for a Somerset County Country Boy he does seem to stand quite tall & I am convinced that very soon he will make the big break through & even if he does not he is doing a fantastic job bringing classical music to the masses, after all Opera & Classical did evolve from the travelling players of years gone by when the news & stories were broadcast by Artists, Actors & most of all Singers to the masses. If you would like to send me a surface mail address I will send you a CD of some of Tims self penned classical & ecclesiastical works. They are quite superb & now ready for final tuning before launch, you could say they are the Beta Versions of something special I would value your comments or any other persons knowledgable comments, once again listen in at www.timpitman.com and please give feedback Cheers Sparky

So to this end please send me your postal address & I will forward you a copy you have my email address through the web site www.timpitman.com or [email protected] or send it to me in a private message :cheers:Cheers Sparky and thanks for your help

Dear Mr. Spark,

I do firmly believe that Tim Pitman can really have a glorious musical career and I wish him well in all his endeavours. I trust that you will continue your indefatigable promotion of Mr. Pitman's vocal and musical abilities. Please don't feel the need to send me the latest album - my happiness is derived from my being able to help a musician in any way, shape of form without expectation of recompense.

Cheers,

Giovanni :tiphat: :tiphat: :tiphat: :tiphat:

Dear Giovanni :tiphat:Hi. Rest assured I will continue to promote Tim not only because I believe that Tim has a super talent but because I am also involved in researching and composing the lyrics and music also in a small way playing some of the background instruments so whatever happens to Tim Pitman happens to me, anyway the offer still stands. Cheers Sparky

Tim Pitman

Hello Sparky, I went to Sanders Garden centre on Wednesday especially to hear Tim. What a voice! Keep up the good work promoting his career, he is a true gentleman and a great performer. Had two sopranos with me who sing with my concert group and we were really amazed that we hadn't heard of him before. Was very concerned that he sang so many really testing songs with such a bad throat, do hope he is recovering now. Will be looking out for him in the future. His C.D is lovely and I shall play it a lot.So glad that the awful weather didn't deter his audience. I have three singers who work with me
two lovely sopranos and a baritone. We are all of pensionable age, myself being the oldest by 10 years but music keeps us all young. We average about 50 concerts a year and I arrange all the songs to siut my singers and my keyboard, it keeps me out of mischief!!
