I worked towards a masters degree in music composition. I'm primarily a world music and jazz afficianado. If you have questions about modal practice in the jazz vein, I'm your man. I sometimes have questions about how the music post Ravel/Debussy is put together such as by Messiaen, Lutoslavski etc... I'm posting up some of my jazz fusion compositions shortly.

Hi Tatsu and welcome to MIMF. There's a bunch of jazz fans here, myself included. Have a look at our jazz subforum. Feel free to start a thread on that modal aspect you mentioned.

I don't listen to Lutosławski too often but I do like his Koncert na orkiestrę and its connection with Polish folklore music.

Anyway, have a look around. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here.
