The *Prairie Home Companion* as hosted by Garrison Keillor can be a real hoot.

Rojo...haven't heard of any of those...but then again you wouldn't have heard of Russel Coight? He did an adventure comedy show...he would tell you what to do...but then he wouldn't do it the way that he said.

I will give you an example....when he tried to move something out of the way...he used dynamite instead of a chainsaw...which the other people said he should use....he got it caught on his shoe when he ignited it....and had to run away....and somehow it blew up the car...I cannot remember how it happened....anyway.

His show is called All Aussie Adventures..

Re: The worst humour...

Hmm...nope, never heard of Russel Coight, nor All Aussie Adventures- sounds pretty wacky. Wackiness can be good...

I have heard of The Prairie Home Companion but I haven`t seen it.

I`ll keep my eyes peeled for these shows, including Little Britain- you never know, they might show up here at some point.

It`s funny (

), one can describe different styles of humour that nationalities have, but there are always exceptions. That`s why I check out comedy from everywhere; some things I don`t find funny, but sometimes I`m rewarded with some really good laughs...

Btw, I hear the British show The Office is good too- haven`t seen that one yet either.

I haven't even heard of the Office, I will check it out....sounds pretty interesting.....there was one show on a few weeks ago...some show to do with a hardware store owned by men....I saw one episode and thought it was quite funny.

But all Aussie adventures is quite funny though, but still the best to me is some movies that Rowan Atkinson is in, such as the Mr Bean episodes, I reckon he should be making a new series...you just cant get bored of it...

I saw little britains on the night before last....the one where he parachuted into his wheel chair....but the funniest is when that guy is dressed up as a woman and is in the tour booking office....COMPUTER SAYS NOOOOO!!!!!

Humor and sarcasm are closely connected. In my opinion, sarcasm has no place at an international board like this. The risk of being misunderstood or not understood, is simply too great. Making yourself look funny at the expense of others has always been a way of attracting attention to yourself, and I think that it is here, too.

People hail what they conceive as 'humor' without thinking of who gets hurt. There is a thin hairline between humor and bullying. If humor can be delivered without hurting others, it is an art form, but without this conditional, it becomes simply rude and primitive.

Each time you write a post, you leave yourself vulnerable to criticism, and that is fine - we should all be held accountable for our writings. But no one deserves to be subject of ridicule masked as 'humor'. It is so much easier to make fun of people than to be creative - just think of that before you go overboard in your quest to appear 'funny'.

My goodness! I can`t help but wonder at where all this is coming from....has someone here hurt you, acciaccatura? Or ridiculed you? I for one have found this place to be very friendly in general...:)

Hi guys...

I have to say something about the situation with humor in Croatia...
our tv stations give us mostly american movies of all kind and sitcoms also... here and there they put some british humor on the program and lately there are a few croatian sitcoms...

To me british humor is definetly the best with shows as Monty Python,You rang milord,Only fools and horses...
I dont like american humor,at least the one I see in movies and sitcoms (a big exeption is Seinfeld..I really like that show)maybe I don't understand it but I feel it's very shallow,I say it again, maybe I don't understand it
and about croatian humor on tv,well I would say it's fake, becouse there is not one person in Croatia that I know that has that kind of humor...I thing the producers took a few popular American/German/italian sitcoms and created a croatian one based on them...
We croatians are known by a strange sence of humor,in a way it could relate to the british.but stranger:)

Yours respectfully

I personally like British humour best. American humour is funny only sometimes. Interested in knowing what German humour is like, is it really the wurst?? :)

Some of the shows I like are:
1) 'Yes, Minister" & "Yes, Prime Minister" --(my favourites!)
2) "Blackadder" & "The Thin blue Line" --both starring Rowan Atkinson
3) Fawlty Towers --sometimes gets a little childish but still funny
4) The Vicar of Dibley --quite entertaining but not as funny as others

I don't much like Rowan Atkinson in Mr. Bean; I prefer his verbal humour to his physical humour. I can't believe how so many people love the "Friends" TV series so much! I just don't see what's so funny about it. What does everyone else think?
