• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Updated sampleset for GrandOrgue 0.3+

Hi!

I've just released a new updated version of Bureå Funeral Chapel for latest development version of GrandOrgue.

The samples are essentially the same as before but with excessive start cut away to speed up speech and with pitch info embedded into the files for easy re-tuning in GO.

The GUI is also reworked both for the original version and extended (that now also include two new manual stops derived from the existing ones with the tuning magic of GO).

As usual all my downloads available on http://www.familjenpalo.se/vpo/download.

Kind regards

Thank you very much !
This update will help me to understand how to create my own ODF in GO3 in the near futur.
I will compare the two versions of the ODF.
It was easy for me to create ODF for GO2, but now, it seems more complicated ...

Hi!

You can think of the new odf options as extensions of the 0.2 format. The old odf's are still valid, but if you want to take advantage of the new features some new things will have to be learned... It's always a good idea to have a look at different .organ files and see how things have been done. There are lots of options but it doesn't need to be so much more complicated than it was before!

One of the great improvements that eventually will need some change in how we produce the samplesets is the pitch info in the audio files. I use my own LoopAuditioneer to embed the necessary data. Strictly speaking, this is not absolutely necessary, but it's a neat way to keep the original samples as intact as possible.

For the graphical items I work very much in GIMP. First I decide upon the basic background, mostly it's size to have enough room for everything. Then I lay out the different images upon it and copy/paste/move them until I get the correct layout. This takes some time to get right, but I think it's worth the effort!

Quite a few things can actually be done inside of GrandOrgue. The amplitude levels can be set for the different stops/pipes as well as any tuning info if you want to do it manually. If one save/export the settings one can have a look at the newly created file and copy the necessary lines to achieve the same effect in the original odf.

Kind regards

Hi Lars :)
GREAT WORK !
This version is way better than the first one. First the sound is highly improved and the response of the samples on playing is superb.
I like very much the black keys and the pedal switch for coupler icons.
Stop levers are a charm.
It's hard to choose which of the two versions is the best.... I like special small positivs but the extended one is sooo special too !

Keep it up !

Best
