Thank you for torturing me Mike.

Poor Teddles - Deprived and downtrodden 'cos everyone else seems to be living comfortably - What my mother told me before I got married is this: You'll only get as much as you invest in your marriage - the same for your health and just about everything else.

When I arrived in NZ all pubs closed at 6pm so the average worker had less than an hour to have a drink with his mates and bosses it was called the 6 o'clock swill resulting in very few drunks, only a few restaurants were licenced, some were bring your own, all shops except 'Dairies' were closed at week ends, it was so peaceful and every one was content there was no class system a true egalitarian society, I remember we had about 2 murders a year. Then we went through all the social reforms to bring NZ into the modern world that was when the shite hit the fan we now have all of the same problems as you and a host of 'do gooders' putting the blame on us.

Decided on custard on the apple crumble today, just about got enough crumble for tomorrow so may have both then - if I haven't used the cream on scones at lunchtime.

@Mike,

Please don't torture Teddles anymore - He has a meek constitution and would easily regain the pounds he so laboriously lost during the summer...:angel:

No, still keeping the weight off CD although last night I succumbed home made apple and blackberry (from the garden) crumble with custard. Losing weight at this time of tear is harder, but I ftind keeping it off fairly simply.

Thats the spirit Teddles - Keep an armour-plated psyche at hand and all temptation will fall off.

Being away from home these past few weeks has immensely helped me curb the snacking habit I had become accustomed to.
In remote areas, the local towns roll up the sidewalks at 1700 hours ... even the wandering dog or cat would be lucky to find a scrap or two ... :eek:

When I get home, I am going to continue the same eating habits as I have been doing on the trip ... and include more walking in my daily routine.

Good to hear that Teddy is sticking to his values ... :tiphat:

I also find I snack less on holiday. being in the pool so much would only make the snacks wet, and also it would interfere with the red wine tasting. The heat helps as well. When it gets up over 85f I do not feel so hungry.

Unfortunately on our holiday I found snacking quite easy.

We found a place that did lovely filled baguettes and cream cakes, now I have to watch my weight.
